TIE/sh Shuttle

During the later development stages of the TIE/sa bomber, it was noted that the design would make for a highly economical sublight runabout. Far cheaper than a Lambda class shuttle, the bomber's lack of speed and shields were considered unimportant for the short ferry rides that officers often made between capital ships. The frame is also more robust and capable than an airspeeder, being able to transport its occupants into orbit or even on short intra-system journeys.

The process of reengineering the bomber for personnel transport was fairly straightforward, with the ordinance pod being modified into a passenger compartment that can carry four humans in reasonable comfort. The pilot pod's sophisticated sensor systems were also replaced with life support systems so that passengers would not have to wear full pressure suits as TIE pilots do. The shuttle is barely able to defend itself, carrying only a single L-s1 laser cannon, but considering the spaceframe's ineptitude in a dogfighting role, this armament is considered more than adequate.
